This weekend, please try to wrangle your thoughts about your essay into an outline and write an introductory paragraph.
Outline:
- write down your main question or thesis
- organize your quotes and ideas into groups that build a response to the question or develop the thesis
- fill out an outline sheet (check that each paragraph is directly related to your question or thesis
Introductory paragraph:
- look at your quickwrite on your original topic - can it be developed into an introduction to your essay?
- if not, write some thoughts down about your main question or your thesis - write about why this is an important idea or question for human beings to be concerned about
- try to take the above thoughts and put them into a paragraph
- also remember to introduce your novel and its author in this paragraph
